Don’t Assume Anything

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

1 Samuel 7:12

Then Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen. He named it Ebenezer, saying, “Thus far the Lord has helped us.”

O-bservation:

Samuel, the Prophet and Priest of Israel, was not known as a warrior even though for many years Israel subdued and defeated the Philistines under his leadership. On one such occasion, after victory, Samuel placed a stone on the location and said, "Thus far the Lord has helped us."

A-pplication:

It's natural to assume that because we are "Followers of Jesus," and because we have been through victories in the past, the Lord will always give us victory. BUT ... what I've learned is that if there is Faith for the day, there will be Strength for the day. If we decide, on the other hand, to move out of the Realm of Faith and into the World of Assumption, things can quickly go sideways. Sampson did that and lost his Vision, his Strength, and his Influence. "Don't Assume Anything!" Like Samuel, I often go to bed at night and pray ... "Thank You Lord, You helped me through another day." When Samuel placed that stone that day and said, "Thus far the Lord has helped us," he was saying to Israel ... "Don't Assume Anything!" Just keep moving and operating in the "Realm of Faith."

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus, This AM I ask You to help me operate in the Realm of Faith and away from the World of Assumption ... AGAIN! Amen

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Deuteronomy 32:4 (NIV) He is the Rock, his works are perfect, and all his ways are just. A faithful God who does no wrong, upright and just is he.

O-bservation:

Moses praises God as the Rock, emphasizing His perfection, justice, and faithfulness. Moses declares that all of God's works are flawless, and His ways are just. He affirms God's character as a faithful and righteous God who does not err but acts with integrity and justice in all His dealings.

A-pplication:

This passage challenges me to trust in the character of God as our Rock and Savior. It am to take comfort in His perfection, knowing that His ways are just and His deeds are flawless. As I face challenges and uncertainties, may I anchor my faith in the unchanging and faithful nature of God, who is my rock of salvation.

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus, May I find strength and security in you, knowing that you are my firm foundation and source of hope. Amen

The Lord’s Faithfulness

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Psalm 40:5 (NIV) Many, Lord my God, are the wonders you have done, the things you planned for us. None can compare with you; were I to speak and tell of your deeds, they would be too many to declare.

O-bservation:

The psalmist acknowledges the abundant wonders and plans of God for His people. He marvels at God's incomparable greatness and the countless deeds He has performed. The psalmist is overwhelmed by the magnitude of God's works and recognizes that they are too numerous to fully recount.

A-pplication:

I reflect on the wonders of God's deeds in my own life and in the world around me. It prompts me to cultivate a heart of gratitude and awe for God's faithfulness and provision. Like the psalmist, may I be filled with wonder and praise for the countless blessings and works of God, and may I continually testify to His greatness and goodness.

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus, Help me to recognize and appreciate your countless blessings and deeds. Amen

S-cripture:

Deuteronomy 26:10 (NIV) And now I bring the firstfruits of the soil that you, Lord, have given me.
