Are You Thinking About What You’re Doing?

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Haggai 1:5

Now this is what the Lord Almighty says: “Give careful thought to your ways.”

O-bservation:

The Lord wanted the people to take care of His Temple, which was in a shambles. They had taken lavish care of their own houses but still weren’t satisfied. The Lord said, “Are You Thinking About What You’re Doing?”

A-pplication:

Sometimes I get so busy doing all kinds of “STUFF” that I hear the Lord say, “Consider What You’re Doing!” Really, when you think about it, good intentions can put you on a conveyor belt of needless activity that produces very little. Initially you started out with good intentions, but now lots of the activity is just needless. The people Haggai was speaking to had planted much, but hadn’t harvested much. They had eaten, but not enough. They drank, but never had their fill. They put on clothes that weren’t warm, and worked for wages that disappeared at the end of the day. If any of this sounds familiar, perhaps now is a good time to consider this question: “Are You Thinking About What You’re Doing?”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

Show me what to do. I need YOUR direction. I’ve thought about it long enough. Please help! Amen
