Are You Kidding Me?

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Psalm 8:3,4
When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon, and the stars which you have set in place, what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings, that you care for them?

O-bservation:

King David upon his continual study of the heavens, moon, and stars, all of which God had set in place, he asked God, “What are we mortals that you would spend time with us at all?” It was David’s way of asking, “Are You Kidding Me?”

A-pplication:

David’s question had to do with his perception as to how much trouble you and I continuously cause the Almighty. The sun moon and stars are all ruled by cause and effect, by God. The animal kingdom is ruled by way of instinct, by God. But humankind is ruled by free moral choice. And God set it up that way. That means we can say, “I’m not doing that to everything God has commanded us to do. Because God knows everything at one time and is all powerful and everywhere at the same time, He’s minute by minute observing us all at the same time and knows how broken so many of us are and yet still loves us in all of our rebellion. When you begin to understand the love of God for his creation you want to say, “Are You Kidding Me?”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,
I’m not even going to ask the question because I’ve lived my whole life and never doubted that you loved me and had a wonderful plan for me. And you did! Thank you Jesus, Amen
