All For Jesus

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Acts 20:24

However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.

O-bservation:

The closer St. Paul got to the finish line, the more he was impassioned to finish strong! He wanted to complete the task that the Lord had given him to testify of Jesus’ saving grace.

A-pplication:

In all the Bible, there’s no one quite like Paul. Let’s start with the fact that Paul was educated beyond that of most of his contemporaries. This was true in his pre-Jesus days and following his receiving Jesus as Lord and Messiah. So he usually won any debate hands down. But then Paul was more strategic and impassioned concerning his mission. He knew where he wanted to go before he planned the trip. Like no one else in the New Testament, one feels that St. Paul raced towards martyrdom. He wanted to die as did his Lord. He wanted to assure his Lord that nothing would come between them. All of those qualities say one thing to me … “All For Jesus.”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

Sometimes, when I read the stories of this great Apostle I wonder if I have that kind of commitment. I do want to say that while I’m preparing for my next test, I have this goal … “All For Jesus.”
