Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Psalm 95:7b-8a
Today, if only you would hear his voice, do not harden your hearts.
O-bservation:
This was King David’s word to Israel thousands of years ago, but it is God’s forever Word to we the people of earth for all time. We are called to LISTEN for the voice of the Lord. Then we are commanded by the Lord to keep “A Soft Heart” toward Him.
A-pplication:
I personally believe that so many of life’s challenges could be easily cured by “A Soft Heart.” The wisest man who ever lived, according to many, King Solomon said, “A SOFT answer turns away wrath” (Prov. 15:1). You may ask, “How does that work?” My father-in-law used to say, “If the cat fur is going that way … rub it that way!” In other words, because of the hardness of our hearts we often go into meetings or conferences with a “Hard Heart,” ready to rub each other the wrong way. Attitude and Approach are oftentimes half the battle. If it’s in one’s heart to fight, that person will always find someone who will take them on. However, when someone wants to fight and you and I decide to approach the FIGHTER with “A Soft Heart,” there’s a good chance the victory will be won without a punch being thrown. Today, listen for the Lord’s voice first, then choose “A Soft Heart” rather than a hard heart. The people who do end up being called … “CHAMPION!”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
This AM I want to thank You for Your WORD. Help me choose “A Soft Heart” today. I’d love to be called a CHAMPION! Amen
