Loving Enough To Confront

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Matthew 18:15

If your brother or sister sins, go and point out their fault, just between the two of you. If they listen to you, you have won them over.

O-bservation:

This is a directive from Jesus to His followers concerning other believers. He told us that if a brother or sister in the church is in sin, we are to lovingly, one-on-one, confront them. Only two things can happen: they can repent before the Lord or reject you.

A-pplication:

A couple of things must be noted here. 1st – This is church business. Brother to brother, sister to sister. No one is called to confront an unbeliever about their sinful actions. Only the Holy Spirit can do that. 2nd – This is about “Loving Enough To Confront.” Jesus said if they receive our loving correction we’ve won them over. Surely that’s worth the risk. What if “Loving Enough To Confront” would mean that Jesus used you to save a marriage and maybe save a family? Gotta do it, in love.

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

I’m asking You this AM to remove the fear in me, and let LOVE move me forward to help my friend. Amen
