S-cripture:

Ezekiel 18:32

For I take no pleasure in the death of anyone, declares the Sovereign Lord. Repent and live!

O-bservation:

Israel’s sinful ways were destroying their lives and leading them to complete destruction as a nation. God laid it out in this chapter concerning what each decision would mean, and finished by pleading with them to change! He said, “I want you to repent and live!”

A-pplication:

Whenever we go against the established code God has set in our hearts from birth (Rom. 1 whole chapter) there comes some kind of payback. Someone has coined the phrase, “For every kick, there is a kickback!” When this happens, some people act as if God is pleased that folks are perishing in their own sin. Nothing could be further from the truth. God’s heart is broken over every selfish act committed here on earth. It is His joy to forgive and forget and give one a glorious future. That is the essence of this short verse. And please, never ever forget … “God Is A Forgiver!”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

This AM, I imagine there is pain in Your heart over the rebelliousness of Your people. For me, I have nothing but gratitude because I know that at the very core of Your Being You are a Forgiver! Amen
