Seeking And Longing After God

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Psalm 70:4

But may all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you; may those who long for your saving help always say, “The Lord is great!”

O-bservation:

King David requested of the Lord that those who sought and longed after God would certainly find what they were looking for. In the end, he wanted them to rejoice and say the Lord is Great!

A-pplication:

First, let me say that David sought and longed after God like few humans we’ve ever known. Certainly we only know about King David through his writings, but how many would love to have had the deep spiritual connection he had with The Lord? Often the end result of what we say we want in our relationship with the Lord is not realized because what we want must be a result of our, “Seeking And Longing After God.” When I say to my trainer, “I’d love to have a physique like yours,” I’m not really serious because I am not willing to put in the effort he has. When a person says, “I really want a close personal relationship with God,” but seldom prays, never signs up to serve on a team, and rarely reads the Bible, they’re not really serious about what they say they want. “Seeking and Longing After God,” will bring about a joy that is undeniable and a continual acknowledgement that “The Lord Is Great!”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

Help me to follow through with my prayer life and devotional life before asking You to give me a better relationship with You. Amen
