Do You Know Your Prophet?

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Ezekiel 2:5

And whether they listen or fail to listen—for they are a rebellious people—they will know that a prophet has been among them.

O-bservation:

In calling Ezekiel to be His prophet over the nation of Israel, the Lord told him that He was sending him to a rebellious people. God told Ezekiel that whether they listened to him or not, they at least would know a true Prophet was among them.

A-pplication:

A true Prophet is a person who keeps the categories lined properly. Think of an accountant who refuses to blur the categories by robbing Peter to pay Paul. A business can’t last long if they do.  In the same way, our lives must be in line with the teachings of our Savior. It’s only when we blur the lines that our power as “Jesus Followers” fades. The Prophet among us helps keep the lines from blurring. He or she is quick to lovingly speak up. Not so much in a judgmental way, but in a way that sounds the alarm. I’d much rather see the light from the lighthouse than run my ship up on the rocks. Prophets help us do that. I know the Prophets in my life. “Do You Know Your Prophet?”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

This AM I want to thank You for placing wonderful men and women in my life who even today help keep the lines straight and clear for me. Amen
