Oh Praise His Name Forevermore

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Isaiah 38:19

The living, the living—they praise you, as I am doing today; parents tell their children about your faithfulness.

O-bservation:

These are the words of King Hezekiah of Judah. He had been told by Isaiah, the Prophet, to put his house in order because he was going to die. He prayed and God added fifteen years to his life. At which point he went into a prayer of praise to The Almighty.

A-pplication:

When King Hezekiah found out that God was adding fifteen years to his life, he began to praise the Lord with beautiful words of adoration. In my estimation, they could add up to this one phrase … “Oh Praise His Name Forevermore!” For every “Follower Of Jesus,” this line should continually be on our hearts and lips. It’s easy to utter praise in the good times, but the point I’m wanting to leave you with is that our God never makes a mistake. When “Bad Times” arrive He has a plan to lift us to another place of faith, so we still praise Him. I suppose I’m promoting the idea of being a “FAN” of God. The fact that we cheer Him on when it’s good for us and when it’s bad for us causes some to call us fanatical! I can only respond with that line again … “Oh Praise His Name Forevermore!”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

This AM I have this thought on my heart and lips … “Oh Praise Your Name Forevermore!” Yes! I’ll always be Your “FAN!” Amen

But sometimes we ask, and God gives us, something that He hadn’t intended as good for us. Wasn’t the child Manasseh born in those extra years Hezekiah got, and didn’t Manasseh turn everything back to the heathen ways? Just asking. 🙂
