Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more.
Throughout this chapter the writer discussed the fact that God, through His son Jesus our Savior, made a better covenant than the original covenant He had made with Abraham. “Only Through Jesus” was the Lord able to make this lasting covenant of sins forgiven and forgotten.
Most people, when considering their own sin and failure and hearing of a Savior who forgives and forgets have a tendency to say, “Yah, But!” After the “Yah, But” they give a list of reasons why their failure and shortcoming is greater than God has ever seen before. Then they give a list of reasons they’re already too far gone. Now let me respond by saying, “Yah, But you just don’t know my Jesus!” Because every excuse prior to Jesus was and is valid. Yah it’s a really bad sin. Yah there’s no way anyone should forgive you for that. Yah I see why you say that, BUT … Maybe you never knew that “Only Through Jesus” does ALL THAT change. The scripture says “He is able to save to the uttermost, those who draw near to God through Him” (Heb. 7:15a). Remember … “Only Through Jesus!”
I’m so glad You found me so long ago. I remember all the “Yah, Buts” I had at the beginning. Those days are gone. Thank You! Amen
