S. O. A. P.
Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
2 Timothy 3:1
But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days.
O-bservation:
St. Paul spoke prophetically in this verse concerning what he called the “Last Days.” He said in the “Last Days” the times will be truly TERRIBLE!
A-pplication:
When Jesus spoke of the signs of the “End Times,” His disciples certainly believed that they would see those signs and His return in their day. Paul most likely figured that he was already living in “The Last Days.” If you read the second half of 2 Corinthians 11, you may wonder how the days could get much worse than what Paul had already been through. Yet it’s been some two thousand years since St. Paul spoke about the “Last Days.” Every generation has seen its share of suffering and persecution of “Jesus Followers” somewhere in the world. “So What’s New?” In no way do I want to suggest that what is yet to come for “Believers” is worse than what some have experienced in this life. However, it was the same Apostle who told us that our salvation is now nearer than when we first believed (Romans 13:11). I’m not sure anything is “NEW,” but what I do know is for you and me these are our “LAST DAYS.” Let’s stay ready.
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
This AM I’m more aware than ever that for me, I’m living in the “Last Days.” Whatever may come, I am Yours until You receive me home. Amen
