little faith=BIG FEAR!

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Matthew 8:26

He replied, “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm.

O-bservation:

The Sea of Galilee was the sea Jesus performed so many of His miracles either on or near. As He and His Disciples were crossing the Sea of Galilee on one occasion, a terrible storm arose and the Disciples were terrified. Jesus said, “Why are you afraid? You have such little faith!” Then Jesus spoke to the waves, and they were calmed.

A-pplication:

There is definitely a connection in this story between Fear and Faith. It goes like this: “little faith=BIG FEAR!” The Disciples, with all their accumulated FEAR, could do nothing but wait to die. Jesus, with His BIG FAITH, just spoke to the winds and waves and a calm serenity immediately crossed the lake. You and I always have the choice between going BIG with Faith or BIG with Fear. Fear is easy to yield to and faith is hard to apply, but FAITH makes problems go away while FEAR magnifies the problems. Our faith is not in faith. Rather, our faith is in JESUS! When Jesus is the object of our FAITH, our FAITH is more easily applied to the storm. Once Jesus enters the storm, now you can go to sleep. It will be calm sailing through the night. With Jesus’ help, I’m going with “BIG FAITH!”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

I’m calling on You this AM. I’ve decided that “Big Faith” is the only way to go! Amen
