Jesus Is GOOD NEWS For The Poor And Afflicted!

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Psalm 9:18

But God will never forget the needy; the hope of the afflicted will never perish.

O-bservation:

King David once again affirms that the God he served then, and the God you and I serve now, will never leave the Poor and Afflicted. In fact, David calls our great God “The Hope” of the afflicted.

A-pplication:

It’s probably important to note that David did not come from a family of wealth. History tells us that his father, Jesse, was most likely a sheep herder and farmer. In other words, David was raised in a family of hard workers. His father and brothers were always up at the crack of dawn to work. Laborers are not always in a position to make things happen. And when something bad can happen, in time it probably will. So David brought to the position of King a distinct love for the Poor and Afflicted. He never, ever forgot this group of people. There was probably only One other human in history who talked about, and did more for the poor and afflicted, and His name was Jesus. To think that wars have been fought over the name of Jesus. To think that Kings and Queens have been crowned with a “Spiritual Blessing” offered by one representing Jesus. To think that Jesus, who lived a fairly obscure life in a small region of Judea, in a primitive time, is now the reason some two billion people claim Him as their Savior. This can only mean one thing. “Jesus Is GOOD NEWS For The Poor And Afflicted!”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

My thoughts this AM have to do with overflowing Praise and Love to You, my God, for Your “GOOD NEWS!” I’m happy to say, YOU’RE my ONE true HOPE! Amen
