Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

1 Samuel 13:22

So on the day of the battle not a soldier with Saul and Jonathan had a sword or spear in his hand; only Saul and his son Jonathan had them.

O-bservation:

This was the first battle King Saul, the new King of Israel, had fought. He and his son Jonathan were sorely outnumbered by the Philistine army. The Bible said earlier that the Philistines had an army as numerous as the sands of the seashore. It was so bad the Israeli army hid in caves, fearing for their lives. The Philistines had abducted all of the blacksmiths out of Israel so no swords or spears could be fashioned for war by the Israelis. The Israelis took their plow points, mattocks, axes, and sickles and sharpened them for battle to fight this vast army. Only Jonathan and his father Saul had a sword! By the way, God showed up and annihilated the Philistine army for Saul and his son Jonathan.

A-pplication:

Have you ever been in such a terrible fix that only the Lord could get you out of it? I’ve got news for you … “That’s The Way God Likes It!” When any of His children are so overwhelmed by trouble that they are utterly dependent on Him, “That’s The Way God Likes It!” There have been times in my life when I was so helpless that I just said, “Jesus I can’t do another thing, please help me.” I can honestly tell you that I think I’ve heard the Lord say … “Finally!” Here’s the truth, if you can find another way God will let you. However, if you’re absolutely, hopelessly, no question about it, at the end of your rope … Jesus will help you, because … “That’s The Way God Likes It!”

Dear Jesus,

You already know it, but I’m up to my neck again. I know that’s the way You like it because once again, You’re my only hope! Amen
