Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
But the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.
Jesus answered His disciples concerning that present time. His prophecies concerned the end of Jerusalem at that time in history. He encouraged each of them to stand strong for Jesus during the struggle, no matter what, and that their salvation would be assured.
Here we’ve discussed the passage in the context in which it was written, yet Jesus’ message is bigger. I believe He was encouraging all of us who follow Christ to be people who never give up in any noble endeavor of life. Whatever we start we must be willing to finish, even if it takes a lifetime. In the book of Ephesians, St. Paul said, “After you have done everything to stand, stand.” (Eph. 6:13, paraphrase) That’s what I believe Jesus was saying here as well. Every time you begin a new quest for the Lord, always “Start With The End In Mind.” When you do that, you are ready to stand for the long run. Together as “Jesus Followers,” you and I must decide to stand through every trial we face. We will stand for our Lord, for our family, for our friends, for our work associates, and for those who cannot stand. We will be the ones who can be counted on to STAND. Until it is finished we will STAND!
This AM I’m ready to count the cost for each of the challenges I am presently deciding upon. I’m asking myself, am I ready to STAND through each challenge until it is finished. I want to start with the end in mind. Amen
