You’ve Got Something Prepared Just For You

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

James 1:12

Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.

The Apostle James, who authored this book under his own name, promises that a crown of life will be given to us, as the Lord has promised, for all of us who hang in there with our Lord and don’t give in. He was telling all believers, “You’ve Got Something Prepared Just For You.”

Let’s be real clear going in, I believe in heaven. I believe that God has promised His people a heavenly reward when we leave the planet. I have studied heaven, but I must tell you I don’t understand it and I can’t seem to fathom life after death. I just believe it. I can’t explain it. I have arguments for it, and I can certainly understand the arguments against it, but I just believe it. What is better to believe? Should we believe that it was just chance that we should show up here and all of this working and striving and goal setting and winning and losing, succeeding and failing was to one day grow old and return to the earth? Is that better, or should we have faith for more? Should we believe instead, that there is purpose to all we go through and that there is life after death and that God has prepared a crown of life for all of us who follow Him? I can’t speak for you, but I can tell you I believe the latter. And I believe, “You’ve Got Something Prepared Just For You!”

Dear Jesus,

Lord, all I can say this AM is that I BELIEVE! Amen
