Young And Pure

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

Psalm 119:9

How can a young person stay on the path of purity? By living according to your word.

As King David meditated in prayer, he asked the Lord a question and then answered it himself. He asked how a young person could stay on the path to purity? He then answered it immediately by saying, “The best way for any person to stay on the path to purity is to live according to the Word of God.”

I was taught this verse as a young boy by my grandmother, and then through my growing up years I was reminded of it over and over by church leaders and youth pastors. Here’s the challenge. How can any of us stay on the path to purity if we don’t know what the Word of God says? There’s nothing to compare with personally knowing God’s Word. You can have other people tell you what it says, but when you actually read it for yourself over and over each day it’s hard to be fooled by someone’s alien interpretation of God’s Word. “Young and Pure” makes an individual attractive in every way. There’s something about living “Young and Pure” that helps you live “Young and Free,” even as you age. One of the greatest assets a young person can have is a view of the future which includes IDEALISM. All of us have years to be slowly pressed into REALITY! For now, decide in your heart that with God’s help your choice will always be, “Young And Pure!”

Dear Jesus,

This AM I admit life has had its way of pressing REALITY in on me. Today, with your help, I will push forward by continuing to choose “The Path To Purity,” which is to know your Word. Amen
