You Find What You’re Looking For

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Mark 7:2

And saw some of his disciples eating food with hands that were defiled, that is, unwashed.

O-bservation:

The Pharisees had come around Jesus, and as usual they wanted to question Him. They saw some of His disciples, who had not washed their hands, eating, which was a sin. Immediately they questioned Jesus about that.

A-pplication:

“You Find What You’re Looking For.” That’s the best way I can interpret this verse and the Pharisees in general. Very seldom were they ever looking for what was RIGHT in someone’s life, instead they felt their task was that of looking for those who had failed to keep the law at every point. Their mission was to find the WRONG in others. The question we “Followers Of Jesus” must ask ourselves every day is, “What am I looking for?” Always our first look should be in the mirror. What do I want to see in me? I want to see a smile that says, I’m here to be a blessing. I want to see my own eyes as eyes that welcome others. If my life shows love and a welcoming, helping hand, then I’ll be looking for something GOOD in others instead of something WRONG in others. Because I’ve learned “You Find What You’re Looking For.”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

With Your help today, I will be in search of the GOOD in everyone I meet. Amen
