You Can’t Get Redos
S. O. A. P.
Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Numbers 24:13
“Even if Balak gave me all the silver and gold in his palace, I could not do anything of my own accord, good or bad, to go beyond the command of the Lord—and I must say only what the Lord says.”
O-bservation:
When Balaam, the prophet, sinned by going with Balek of Moab to entertain the thought of cursing the people of God (Israel), there was no getting over such a deed done to the Lord’s people. Yet, when Balaam went with Balek, he never cursed Israel; he only blessed Israel. This verse is Balaam’s words to Balek when the king became angry and refused to pay Balaam anything. Unfortunately for Balaam, such an egregious sin in that time meant “You Don’t Get Redos.”
A-pplication:
Thank God that because of Jesus Grace is applied to all of our sins. I’m so thankful today that God gives us so many redos when it comes to failure that in a lifetime they become hard to count. Yet, there are still some things that You Can’t Get Redos for. You Can’t Get Redos for missing a child’s graduation, a wife’s birthday, a boss’s retirement party, a father’s funeral, a friend’s wedding, the Sunday message last week, a baby’s dedication service, or a housewarming party. What’s good is that each one of those events mentioned can be forgiven, but it was an event that will never happen again. The purpose of this devo is to remind each of us that we only have one life. Let’s be sure that we make it a good one because when it comes to life, You Can’t Get Redos.
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
I’ve been blessed that You have helped me limit my fatal errors in this life. Still, it’s my desire to follow You completely, regardless of the cost. Help me, Lord. Please help me. Amen
