Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
I will put an end to your noisy songs, and the music of your harps will be heard no more.
These words were prophesied against Tyre (modern-day Lebanon) by the prophet Ezekiel. At that time in history, the city was known for its operatic expertise. Yet this place, and others like it through the years, have partied at others’ expense. In this case, Tyre was ready to dismantle Jerusalem, and God was against them. He let them know that when it was all said and done, people would ask, “Who’s Singing Now?”
So you know, our position here in Miami, Florida, at the time of this writing is that we are still shuttered in by a pandemic that appears to be receding finally. Yet we as a church still have not met together in-house since March 1st of this year. Our huge coastal cities have been shut down. New York City has been silenced. Many of my friends who live there question whether or not the city will ever return to its long-time reign of greatness. The truth is, God is God all by Himself. Those who would shake an angry fist in His face will, in time, succumb to His greatness. Why would I say that? Because it was God who first gave the song. It was King David who wrote about the song, and it is Lucifer who still tries to destroy the song. Until we can all give the real maker of the song the praise He so deserves, the song could continue to be silenced. At which point, people from around the world will say, “Who’s Singing Now?”
This AM, I’m humbly asking You to bring back the song. Our people need a song to help them while they endure the trouble they are facing. Please, Lord, bring back the song. Amen
