When You Face Opposition, God Is Probably In It
S. O. A. P.
Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
1 Corinthians 16:9
Because a great door for effective work has opened to me, and there are many who oppose me.
O-bservation:
In bringing his first letter for the Church at Corinth to a close, St. Paul let them know what his plans were for the immediate future. He said he would stay in Ephesus a bit longer, because a fantastic opportunity had come to him there to minister the gospel. He knew it was going to be great because so many were opposed to what he was doing for the Lord.
A-pplication:
Here is one thing I’ve learned during my brief stay here on earth as a “Follower Of Jesus.” And by the way, it’s what the Apostle Paul already knew. “When You Face Opposition, God Is Probably In It.” That’s right! Opposition for the believer in Jesus is always a test, and scripture tells us, “God will never allow more to come on you than you can handle” (1 Cor. 10:13). Testing always gives you an opportunity to grow to a better level than the test originally found you. The great Apostle could have cried and boohooed that he was going through so much and he didn’t know if he was going to be able to hold on. NO! That was never his style. Instead he relished the fact that there was so much opposition to him being there. It was St. Paul’s determination, and it should be ours as well, “When You Face Opposition, God Is Probably In It.”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
Thank You this AM for trusting me with Opposition. With this kind of push back, I KNOW there’s a major victory coming my way. Amen
