What’s Your First Thought?
S. O. A. P.
Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Luke 4:22
All spoke well of him and were amazed at the gracious words that came from his lips. “Isn’t this Joseph’s son?” they asked.
O-bservation:
After Jesus had read from the word of Isaiah in the temple one day, He told the people that what He had just read to them was coming to pass at that very moment as He was speaking. The “First Thing” that came out of their mouths was, “Isn’t this Joseph’s son?”
A-pplication:
Whenever you see or hear a miracle taking place, “What’s Your First Thought?” These people, upon hearing a miracle in their presence, asked right away, “Isn’t this Joseph’s son?” I believe they were thinking, “If we can make Him less than what He is by identifying Him with a poor carpenter here in our area, others will have to acknowledge that this Jesus is definitely not God.” When I asked the question “What’s Your First Thought,” it’s because when Jesus does something in our lives our First Thought is the most important thought. It will determine if we win or if we lose. You see, if you want to minimize Jesus you can. But that will only hurt you. Everything we can do to make Jesus BIGGER on our watch is what is really important. “What’s Your First Thought?”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
I want my First Thought to always be … “I believe You Jesus!” Amen
