What LOVE Taught Me

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

1 Corinthians 13:2

If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.

O-bservation:

Here, St. Paul said that one can be so gifted with spiritual ability that he or she can see the future and prophesy and also be so full of faith that people are amazed by them. But then he said, “If they don’t have LOVE, they are NOTHING!

A-pplication:

Thirty-six years ago today, my second of four sons was born. Prior to my becoming a father, I felt as if (to some degree) I had to go out and make a name for myself. By that, I’m not suggesting that I was uniquely arrogant, but that like everyone else I was going to have to earn a good enough living to support a family. I got pretty good in front of a crowd, and financial support began to follow. I tried to determine whether I wanted to go into the gifts of prophesy or faith? But then the “SONS” started showing up. When they began arriving, a crazy kind of LOVE arrived with them. The more I loved them, the more I began loving people. The more I loved people, the more people came around me. The amazing thing I learned was that the gift of prophesy or faith or whatever gift was needed at the time would show up when I needed it. And that’s “What Love Taught Me!”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

Thank You for teaching me that LOVE really is all one needs if that person has You. Love attracts people. And when I have people, I’m able to have every gift You have to offer so that I can help them. Amen
