What Is My Greater Value?

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Hebrews 11:26

He regarded disgrace for the sake of Christ as of greater value than the treasures of Egypt, because he was looking ahead to his reward.

O-bservation:

The Apostle writes that Moses had it all as an heir to the throne of Egypt. However, he considered suffering disgrace with the people of God of far “Greater Value” than anything Egypt had to offer.

A-pplication:

As I read this famous passage this AM, I asked myself the question, “What Is My Greater Value?” So much that we strive for here on this side of heaven is temporary. It’s a chase that can never catch fulfillment. Why? Because it’s temporary, fleeting, like packaged memories in a bottle that aren’t important to anyone else. Moses constantly looked forward to another land where his true reward was housed. Heaven, the “City of God,” was his goal. Heaven was Moses’ “Greater Value.” As you begin this God-sent, brand new Morning, please join me today and ask yourself, what is “My Greater Value?”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

Help me again to take my eyes off of fleeting stuff that doesn’t last. Help me look ahead to my reward with You! Amen
