We’re Crying For This Kind Of Wisdom Right Now!

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

1 Kings 10:24

The whole world sought audience with Solomon to hear the wisdom God had put in his heart.

O-bservation:

Solomon had simply answered the Lord’s offer some years earlier by saying, “I need wisdom to lead your people.” This was his request after the twenty-year-old young man became King, and God asked him what he wanted. God said, “I’ll give you whatever you ask for.” I doubt that Solomon knew at the time that wisdom, in his case, would be the key to great wealth. But when God answered his prayer, the money started flowing.

A-pplication:

If, for some reason, this post should be read years from now into the future, it’s important to note that we are still facing a pandemic around the world and continue to be “shuttered in.” That term is being used to describe that our government is not really wanting anyone to move too quickly back into society because of the coronavirus, which has a deadly impact on people’s lives. In the meantime, many, if not all, folks in my country are receiving checks in the mail from our government to help with the loss of income since only those who are deemed “essential workers” have been allowed to work during this season. Consequently, there are more people unemployed now than there were during the “Great Depression!” Here’s the craziness of all of this. Before the coronavirus, the National Debt stood at $22.7 trillion at the end of 2019. Now we’re giving trillions to our people, and to businesses, and to churches, from a well that we thought was dry? We’re grateful, but only God can make stuff out of nothing. When you see that Solomon had literally been brought gold from people all over the world just to hear him talk, you must feel like I do this AM, “We’re Crying For This Kind Of Wisdom Right Now!”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

I need You today like never before! I’m crying for personal WISDOM like I’ve never had. Please, Lord, hear my prayer. Amen
