Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly.
One of the marks of the Early Church was fervent Prayer. Here Luke, the writer of the Acts of the Apostles, recalled a time when the people were praying in one accord to the point that the whole place where they were praying felt a “SHAKING,” and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and preached the Word of God with power
As I read this passage this AM, I felt in my heart that “We Need A SHAKING!” There comes a point in each of our lives where we must ask ourselves these questions: What am I doing? What is my reason for being here? Am I just supposed to carry on my “ho hum” daily routine? The only answer to these prayers of frustration is to let the prayers become prayers of desperation, where we gather together just to pray! I believe when the church prays, or my family prays, or I pray, some kind of a real shaking rattles hell and reverberates here on earth! It’s time friend! “We Need A SHAKING!” If we purpose in our hearts to PRAY God is ready to answer, and when He does something is going to SHAKE!
Today I’m asking You to SHAKE me and SHAKE my church so that we may again be filled with the Spirit and preach the Word with boldness! Amen
