We Must WIN Their Hearts

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
2 Samuel 19:14
He won over the hearts of the men of Judah so that they were all of one mind. They sent word to the king, “Return, you and all your men.”
O-bservation:
David had been banished from his own palace and kingdom by his rebellious son, Absalom. No one would have given him a chance to defeat his own son, but he did. At this point the part of the country that had followed Absalom was in confusion, but Judah, where the king’s palace was, was definitely confused because David had fled for his life from there. The people of Judah were afraid to do anything. But David sent a humbling and loving word to the leaders of Judah. When they heard it, they welcomed him back home.
A-pplication:
How did David pull this off? He pulled it off based upon his relationship with his people. He loved them, and he knew how to win their hearts over. Everything begins with relationship. When you have relationship with a friend, you know what it takes to move your friend emotionally. You know what they appreciate. You never come on hard to someone you want in your camp. Instead you connect with them on common ground. When you do, a certain heart string is struck, and the sound is a familiar one. That’s what David did, and that’s what we must do. “We Must WIN Their Hearts!”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
Help me to appeal to people’s hearts first. I know the mind is important, but let people feel that I care for them. Amen
