Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
“What I say to you, I say to everyone: ‘Watch!’”
Just a few days before His crucifixion, Jesus was asked by His disciples what would be the signs of the end time. Jesus sat for quite a while and discussed the topic and what to look for. There were immediate signs to look for in that day leading up to the temple being destroyed again, but then He also talked about the rapture of the Church thousands of years in the future. He ended with the word, “Watch!” He was saying in EVERY generation to EVERYONE in that generation that each person must “Watch” for these signs.
In this day of enlightenment and information, it’s easy to be more interested in the news as it relates to me personally, or the nation one lives in, than the news as it relates to the whole world and the coming of the Lord. In fact, I can honestly say that never in my lifetime have I ever heard on a nightly newscast or computer news feed that this or that particular happening is a sign of the coming of the Lord. Never! That has never happened in my life! Yet the King of Kings, for all of history, told everyone to “Watch” for these signs. Regardless of whether or not we have held the world accountable to report on the signs of the times, you and I must continually be vigilant and alert to the signs of the times in which we live. Whatever else you do today, make sure you remember most of all, to “Watch!”
I never want to grow weary in my pursuit of the signs of the times. I want to say alert and to “Watch,” because You instructed me to do so. Help me, I pray. Amen
