Be patient, then, brothers and sisters, until the Lord’s coming.
James, as was believed, could have been the brother of our Lord. In the last chapter of his book he admonishes “All Jesus People” to be patient until Jesus returns for us.
Certainly James believed that Jesus would return in his lifetime. All the Apostles did. Yet it has been well over 2,000 years and this verse is still the will of God. The Lord wants His people to be patient. In the first chapter of James he spoke a lot about perseverance. This word is an intense form of patience. So the truth is, James saw a need for patience in the life of every believer. St. Paul told us in Romans 5:4 that perseverance produces character. Character will separate you from the rest and elevate you to a position of influence that began with PATIENCE. James told us to be patient until Jesus returns. “Until When??” You heard him!
I am Yours, I am Yours, I am Yours, and with Your help I will continue to be Yours until You come for me. Amen
