There’s A Reason For The devil

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Judges 1:19

The Lord was with the men of Judah. They took possession of the hill country, but they were unable to drive the people from the plains, because they had chariots fitted with iron.

O-bservation:

After Joshua’s death, the land of Israel was led by a series of Judges. Joshua had never completely driven the former owners out of the lands they had conquered in the promised land. Judah initially tried but to no avail. Why? Because God always has an enemy left in the land to test the faith of His people.

A-pplication:

Have you ever paused to ponder the thought that “There’s A Reason For The devil”? Of course there is. There’s no way to elevate one’s life when there is no test for that man or woman to attempt. Pushups develop one’s core and chest muscles. Graduate level courses boost gray matter in the brain. Marriage crisis can produce marriage bliss. Why? There’s a test involved. The Israelites were God’s chosen people, but He didn’t want a bunch of lazy robot-like people who got everything they ever asked for. He wanted faithful, loyal, loving, battle-tested warriors who could and would stand up to the test. But they wouldn’t, so they couldn’t. Let’s bring this discussion down to you and me. Before we complain about the devil, remember that “There’s A Reason For The devil.” Are you ready for the test today?

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

Whatever You want for me today Lord, I’m ready for Your will in my life. Not just today, but every day. Amen

  1. How amazing God’s timing and confirmation. Our Men’s group last night were just having a discussion on this exact topic. So a brother from the group shared the devotion. What a God-incidence. Thank you.
