The Safe Place

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Matthew 6:6

But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

O-bservation:

Here Jesus, while preaching His famous Sermon on the Mount, established the secret place for all believers. He said that prayer is a personal thing between each person and his or her Heavenly Father. Consequently, one needs a secret place to bare one’s soul in private.

A-pplication:

What Jesus referred to as the “secret place,” I’d like to refer to as “The Safe Place.” Don’t get me wrong, I’m not CHANGING anything in the Word, but “The Safe Place” is used so much in our culture that it may highlight the secret prayer place Jesus promoted here. If you’re looking for a place in your life that is truly SAFE, look no further than the place of private prayer with your blessed savior, Jesus. No one knows about it. No one knows when you go there. No one knows what you say. No one can accuse you of something inappropriate that happened while you were there since they don’t know you were there. The secret place of prayer with Jesus is no doubt “THE SAFE PLACE” in any man or woman’s world. Today, in the middle of life’s struggles and complexities, I beg you to join me in “The Safe Place.”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

I’m so grateful for “The Safe Place” in my life. With everything pulling at me, I’m always blessed and immediately brought to peace in my safe place. Thank You, Jesus! Amen
