The Prayer Of A King

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Psalm 72:1

Endow the king with your justice, O God, the royal son with your righteousness.

O-bservation:

These were the words of the greatest Israeli king ever to live. King David. Probably the reason he is recognized as the greatest Israeli King, and perhaps the greatest king to ever live is because God answered this one prayer. It was “The Prayer Of A King.”

A-pplication:

David desired to be JUST in everything he did as a king. He wanted life to be fair for the people he served, and indeed he lived to serve his constituents. He also desired to be a man of RIGHTEOUSNESS and lead his people into righteous living. He wanted them, and himself, to be people who lived for and served the most high God. But let’s bring this home. Don’t you and I want this for our families? Don’t we want to be fair with each member of our household, and don’t we want them to live righteous lives? And isn’t it true that you and I are the Kings and Priests of our households? So today, why not say, “The Prayer Of A King” with me, your fellow king. “Endow the king with your justice, 0 God, the royal son with your righteousness.” This works for daughters and Queens as well!

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

I need justice and righteousness to be the rule and motivation for all that I do. Help me, Lord, for, without You, I am like those who live only for themselves. Amen
