Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!
In this passage of scripture, Jesus gave part of his famous “Sermon on the Mount.” Here he talked about Asking, Seeking, and Knocking. He told the listeners, “If you know how to give good gifts to your children, even as a sinful person, how much more will the God we serve, perfect in all His ways, give good gifts to those who ask Him.”
I have not always received exactly what I asked for from God or anybody else. I think it’s because I don’t always know what I need, even though I think I do. God’s gifts come to us in the perfect time. That’s what makes it a perfect gift. Even the trials that have come my way have turned out to be gifts from God, because they came at a time when my faith and trust needed to be expanded. That’s exactly what has happened after each trial and test. God knows what we need and when we need it. It has taken me a long time to learn the truth of this promise. I first read it when I was a small boy, but what it means to me now is indescribable. The longer I live, the more I learn each day of “The Giving Heart Of God.”
I haven’t come this AM to tell you I need more stuff. I did come to thank you that you’re a good, good God. All the time! Amen
