Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
Like the appearance of a rainbow in the clouds on a rainy day, so was the radiance around him. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord. When I saw it, I fell facedown, and I heard the voice of one speaking.
Ezekiel had a vision of the glory of God. And it reminded him of the brilliance of a bright and colorful rainbow in the clouds on a rainy day. It was so overwhelming to the man of God that he fell face down on the ground. This of course was a symbol of great respect for the Lord God Almighty on the part of Ezekiel.
Certainly if any of us had ever had a vision like Ezekiel in this chapter, or like John in the Revelation, I’m sure we would do the same thing each of them did. We would fall face down in the presence of the Almighty and pay homage to our great God. Whenever I read this passage or the one in Revelation 1, I always think, “Why don’t we all fall face down in God’s presence on a daily basis?” Perhaps you do, but I surely don’t. Could it be that I’ve lost that sense of the holiness of our God? Or maybe it’s that I spend more time asking for stuff instead of worshipping our Maker. Either way, it’s high time in my own life that I should get back to face-down worship. “The Brilliance Of Our God” demands more than a ho-hum response. He is the maker of heaven and earth and He is Lord of all. Today I choose to acknowledge His Lordship over me and hope you do the same.
This AM I have assumed the face-down position of worship You deserve. Without You I am nothing, but with You I can do all things by Your mighty power. Amen
