The Bended Ear

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Psalm 116:2

Because he turned his ear to me, I will call on him as long as I live.

O-bservation:

David always called upon the name of the Lord. He did this because he said that Jesus always turned his ear to David’s desperate cry.

A-pplication:

There’s a catch phrase that has been written in books and songs that goes like this: “On Bended Knee.” It’s usually a love song or love story about how the dashing young beau bends his knee to ask for the hand of his beautiful princess in marriage. But if I’m honest, this verse is all about “The Bended Ear.” That’s right. Because Jesus is in the business of bending His ear in the direction of the desperate cries of His followers on this side of heaven. I Always Call On Jesus, Here’s Why. In my six decades of living, Jesus has never failed to bend His ear in my direction whenever I’ve called His name. Perhaps you know other names to call upon, but my heart is fixed on the one with “The Bended Ear.”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

How very grateful I am this AM that You have always heard my cry. There are not enough words in my limited language to give you enough praise. Thank you, Lord. I will always call on Your name. Amen
