Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
2 Corinthians 13:5
Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you—unless, of course, you fail the test?
In closing his second letter to the Church at Corinth, St. Paul encouraged each member of the church to “Test Yourself!” He said if you’re really going to mature and become strong in the Lord, you will need to examine your faith on a regular basis in order to pass the test. Unless, of course, you are failing.
Here I am, on the day after Easter, and the COVID-19 coronavirus is still very much in effect worldwide. Currently, there has arisen a great number of conspiracy theories around the world about how this virus began and if it was purposely spread for a worldwide impact on the numbers of people allowed to live on the planet at the same time. And yes, I’m sure it will get even stranger than that. All this to say, have you taken time recently to “Test Yourself?” Far more important than what’s going on in the world right now is what’s going on inside of us. We are in a spiritual battle. Never forget that one day we will stand before a loving God, and on that day, what will be determined is whether or not we “Tested Ourselves” on this side of heaven.
Today I feel like I’m bringing my body and heaving it upon Your altar again! I’m here to test myself to see if, at this age, I can still pass the test of spiritual renewal in my life. I do love You. PLEASE HELP ME! Amen
