Take Care Of Your Parents

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

Proverbs 30:17

The eye that mocks a father, that scorns an aged mother, will be pecked out by the ravens of the valley, will be eaten by the vultures.

For this wise man, there was nothing more disrespectful and hideous than children who refused to care for their aged parents. In fact, misery appears to await them.

WOW! You know I can’t really count through the years how many times I’ve read this verse before, but this AM it really hit me. I’m not that good of a guy, but I’ve got to say that disrespecting my parents was never in my wheelhouse of experience. I adored my father and I ADORE and LOVE my dear mother. Of course, they were the kind of parents that were easy to love. And I’m sure I’m blessed in that way. I fear many folks have been brought up in some brutal parental surroundings. Yet we’re still not given a green light from Scripture to disrespect our parents. Whatever it takes, do your absolute best to “Take Care Of Your Parents.”

Dear Jesus,

How very thankful I am for the most wonderful parents a child could ever have. I’m praying for my friend today who reads this post, that You will help them as well to “Take Care Of Their Parents.” Amen
