Success God’s Way
S. O. A. P.
Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
2 Kings 18:7a
And the Lord was with him; he was successful in whatever he undertook.
O-bservation:
These are words that describe King Hezekiah of Judah. The Bible tells us in previous verses that there was no one like him in all the kings of Judah. If you’re wondering how that happened, the scripture tells us he trusted in the Lord God of Israel. He held fast to the Lord and did not stop following. He kept the commands the Lord had given Moses.
A-pplication:
Here we have the prescription for “Success God’s Way!” The longer I live, the more I’ve come to realize there are no shortcuts to success. It may appear that someone has taken a side road and been successful, but before it’s over, something usually goes sideways, and their apparent success is deemed a failure. So here it is. If you want “Success God’s Way” then, first of all, put your full trust in the Lord. Don’t trust Him only when things are going well; trust Him fully. Second, hold fast to the Lord. That means you and I are totally dependent upon Him. When God’s all you’ve got, you’ll discover that God is all you need. Finally, keep following the Lord’s Word. Keep His commands! I don’t mean that in a legalistic way, I mean it in a loving way. This, in my humble estimation, is the formula for “Success God’s Way!”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
This AM I am ready once again to Trust You completely. Also, I want to depend upon You entirely. And finally, help me follow Your Word wholeheartedly. With Your help, I am and will be successful. Amen
