He Stopped Dying … In Order To Forgive Again

S. O. A. P.

Here’s your 90 second AM devotional!

S-cripture:

Luke 23:43

Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.”

O-bservation:

Bible history tells us that Jesus was crucified between two thieves. One of the thieves mocked Jesus and said … “If you’re the king of the Jews save yourself and us!” But the other thief scolded the mocker and then asks Jesus for forgiveness. Jesus was at the brink of death, but “He Stopped Dying … In Order To Forgive Again.”

A-pplication:

Humility is the spiritual root for all GOOD that emanates from You and me. Jesus’ very nature was that of humility. And in His excruciating pain, because His humble heart would not let Him die until he had done one more act of love … He forgave the thief on the cross. Then He prayed a short prayer to his Dad, and died. What do YOU need to stop doing right now in order to do one more act of love? So often we let lousy attitudes separate us from the good we could be doing. Loving, Forgiving, Helping, and Encouraging, are all attributes that flow from a humble heart. As long as you and I are willing to keep these attributes operating in our lives, DEATH will have to WAIT! In a moment when the sins of all humankind past and future were laid on Jesus’ back and the physical pain was unimaginable, “He Stopped Dying … In Order To Forgive Again.”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

Let me live another day to do one more act of love and kindness. Amen
