Sometimes I Just Don’t Get It
S. O. A. P.
Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Psalms 144:3
Lord, what are human beings that you care for them, mere mortals that you think of them?
O-bservation:
This is an amazing passage written by David, the great King of Israel. The more he knew God and communicated with the Lord, the more he was inclined to say, “Sometimes I Just Don’t Get It! Why do You, my God, even care about human beings?”
A-pplication:
Life on this side of heaven for we mere mortals is often both mundane and exciting, and sometimes that happens in just one day. Sometimes it’s totally fulfilling and other times you wonder if there’s a point to your life at all. There have been times when I personally have been so impressed with the earth I live on, and other times I can’t wait to someday leave it. But the thing that really amazes me is that we little people were made by an omnipotent God who, for some reason, cares intimately about us. This is not an arrogant or ignorant finding, it’s just true. The Word of God details the Lord’s passionate pursuit of we little humans since the day He made man in His own image. He is so much bigger than all the stuff I think is important, some of which I mentioned, yet He still wants to communicate with you and me daily. Our communication with Him, in comparison to His understanding, is like me wanting to spend time with one of my grandkids trying to get them to say “DaDa.” That’s why I’m saying this AM, “Sometimes I Just Don’t Get It!”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
Good AM, my dear Lord. Everything I read in Your Holy Scripture confirms to me that You actually enjoy me saying Good AM. That’s why, “Sometimes I Just Don’t Get It,” but I won’t quit because I’m glad You do. Amen
