Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
Some of the people became followers of Paul and believed.
This is what happened after Paul preached his famous message in Athens, Greece, on Mars Hill. He was the first to bring the gospel not only to Athens but to all of Greece. That nation became the earliest to embrace Christianity. The interesting part of this story is that Paul was somewhat on trial when he preached something entirely foreign to these folks, who had seemingly always embraced the mystical. Yet, humans imagined gods of the universe. When he finished, the scripture says, “SOME” folks followed Paul and believed.
Immediately after visiting Athens, Paul went to Corinth and stayed while planting the first Christian church in Corinth. Sometime later, St. Paul wrote from a Roman prison to the young church he had planted in Corinth and said these words. “To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save SOME” (1 Cor. 9:22). It was not the Apostle Paul’s intention to personally win the entire planet to Christ. Instead, he knew that he was called to save SOME. It’s time that we make it our goal to save SOME while we’re here. Our wonderful Lord will take care of the rest.
I know that people need You more than anything. I ask for Your help that I may save “SOME!” Amen
