Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
But in your great mercy you did not put an end to them or abandon them, for you are a gracious and merciful God.
After Nehemiah had completed the building of the walls surrounding Jerusalem, they gathered all the people together for the public reading of the law. Great repentance set in. Then the Levitical leaders prayed to God in front of all the people and recounted how God had been good through the centuries but the Israelites had still rebelled. Finally they said, “In all of our turning, You, O’ Lord, have still been Gracious and Merciful.”
I feel compelled to say this, this AM. If we’ll admit it, we would have to say that through the years you and I have both had our times of unfaithfulness to Jesus. Yet in all of our wanderings, and all of our unwillingness to follow Jesus completely, He has never failed us. Think of the people you hold dear. Now think of the times they let you down when you needed them most. BUT … then think about Jesus. He’s never ever failed us. He is … “Our Gracious And Merciful God!”
This AM I’m almost beside myself with the thought of Your Faithfulness. When I wasn’t worth it, You have over and over again been Gracious And Merciful. Amen
