Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
The Lord within her is righteous; he does no wrong. Morning by morning he dispenses his justice, and every new day he does not fail, yet the unrighteous know no shame.
The Prophet Zephaniah was decrying the injustice of Jerusalem and its leaders. He said, “Our God Is Faithful Even When We’re Not!” God is always fair, yet Zephaniah said the wicked who lived within the city of Jerusalem knew no shame.
I’m concerned this AM that this verse would have to apply to our world today. And wherever you’re reading this from, it certainly applies in most cases to your nation. In my context, I’m broken over what is happening in my country. I see a loving God who reaches down with everything He has, wanting to serve justice to any and all, yet He is denied that opportunity because of people in high places who disregard our loving Lord. They “KNOW NO SHAME!” King Solomon said that there is nothing new under the sun. Wow! This passage of scripture was written for Jerusalem well over two thousand years ago, but it sounds like the prophet was speaking of my nation. I want this to be an uplifting word to you every day, but this AM I know in my own heart that I will bring my repentance to Jesus early on. I want to be a man who is just and loving to all I meet. I’m sure you feel the same, but either way, let us remember, “Our God Is Fair, Even When We’re Not!”
This AM I have been humbled once again at the reading of Your Holy Word. I realize that Your justice transcends my unrighteousness. Today I ask You to forgive me and cleanse me from all unrighteousness. I long to be more like You. Amen
