Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
Then the elders and all the people at the gate said, “We are witnesses. May the Lord make the woman who is coming into your home like Rachel and Leah, who together built up the family of Israel. May you have standing in Ephrathah and be famous in Bethlehem.
This was the PROPHECY given to Boaz when he went to let the elders of his city know what his intentions were as it related to marrying the Moabite woman named Ruth. They prophesied greatness over Boaz. “Here’s One Prophecy That Came To Pass” when you consider that Boaz was a forefather of King David and therefore a forefather of Jesus. Yes indeed, Boaz did become famous in Bethlehem.
There are two things that are true about a prophecy. First, the hearer must believe it and run toward the fulfillment of that prophecy by doing everything in their own power to see it come to pass. Second, while there’s so much the recipient of the prophecy can do to help make it happen, there are parts to every prophecy that only God can make happen. When Boaz received this prophecy that outlasted his life by more than 1,300 years, he did everything he could do to make it happen. But then, over the course of time, God did what only He could do. And that’s why “Here’s One Prophecy That Came To Pass!”
This AM, please speak to me in a new way. I promise I’ll do everything You ask to help make it happen on my end. But then I’ll need You to do what I can’t do. Amen
