Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

Psalm 83:18

Let them know that you, whose name is the Lord—that you alone are the Most High over all the earth.

Here the Psalmist asks God that He would send retribution upon all of His foes. It was very much the way the prophets of the Old Testament were led of the Lord to speak. But even when God did annihilate a country or group of people in battle, sin carried on. It was the NEW way that God gave us in Jesus that changed everything.

The NEW way that God gave us through Jesus was that we would, after salvation, become the ones who let the world know who and what God is like. The Psalmist said to God, “You tell them who You are and that no one can mess with You!” But Jesus told US to go into all the world and make disciples. Grace makes all the difference when it comes to spiritual revelation. In my humble opinion, it’s always better to have witnesses of the Truth and to lead people to Him than for the Truth to have to bring lightning out of Heaven to prove He’s real. So, if there’s really a question of “OLD vs NEW,” I’ll choose NEW every time.

Dear Jesus,

I’m so thankful for the OLD Testament and the historic story of how You have always reached out to we, Your people. I’m so thankful though this AM for the NEW Testament, which introduced the story of Your One and only Son, Jesus. I love it all, but I’m really thankful for the NEW! Amen
