Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
Ah, Sovereign Lord, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you.
Jeremiah had purchased a field at the direction of the Lord and gave the deed to his associate to hold. The purpose of this was to let the people know that even though Babylon was going to take them over and rule them for seventy years, there would come a time when the people of God would be back in Israel buying and selling their own property. Because, in the words of Jeremiah, “Nothing Is Too Hard For The Lord.”
Think about the terrible calamity the rebellious people of Judah were about to experience. Then think about the sense of loss they would feel for the next seven decades. Before it all happened, God had His prophet Jeremiah, go through a spiritual and literal exercise of buying land and putting it, as it were, in a seventy-year trust fund to paint of picture of hope for the Israelites even in their most desperate of living conditions. Would it happen like the prophet said it would? It did. Even today, thousands of years later, these same people of God are living in their beloved Israel buying and selling their own property. Why? I’ll tell you why. “Nothing Is Too Hard For The Lord!”
In this short story lesson, You have shown me once again that the promises of God are yes and amen to those who believe. That’s why I’ll never stop believing! Amen
