Not Yet, Soon Though

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

1 Corinthians 13:12

For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

St. Paul talks about the difference in seeing the future, or heaven, from this side of heaven verses one day standing in heaven and understanding it all. In other words, seeing everything clearly over there instead of blurry on this side, and literally believing BY FAITH and not by sight down here.

In those days, the mirrors were dark and the image of the individual was blurred or skewed. A man would look at his spouse’s beautiful face, and then see her beautiful face in a mirror and see it distorted. That made him know that what he saw himself to be in the mirror certainly wasn’t what he really looked like. That’s what our faith on this side of heaven is like. But one day, hallelujah, we will know as we are known! We’ll see ourselves just like a man looks directly into the face of another man. There will be no more questions. No more doubts. The scripture says, “When He (speaking of Jesus) shall appear, we shall be like Him, for we shall see him as He is (1 John 3:2). Yeah, it’s going to happen, “Not Yet, Soon Though!”

Dear Jesus,

As I head out again this AM, I can hardly wait for this to happen. I don’t want to wait, but I will. I trust You, it won’t be long. Amen
