Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and exalt and glorify the King of heaven, because everything he does is right and all his ways are just. And those who walk in pride he is able to humble.
These were the words of King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon after the Lord had restored his sanity. For seven years, he had lived like an animal outside his palace because he verbally proclaimed that he was the source of all of his success (vs. 30). After his great declaration, God drove him from his palace, and he ate grass for seven years. Now he was restored and giving God all the praise.
“No ONE Is Greater Than Our King.” This story is living proof of that statement. King Nebuchadnezzar, at the height of his success, forgot that he was mortal and began ranting about how great he was. When he did, the Almighty turned him into an animal. When he finally awakened to his senses seven years later, he realized that only God is God. Many leading Christian theologians believe we’ll share heaven with Nebuchadnezzar. Why? Because he woke up one day and acknowledged who the real God is. It’s true we are human, and that means most humans have a lifetime of seventy to eighty years. The very fact that we will all face death is proof that we’re not God. Stay low, stay near the cross, and remember, “No ONE Is Greater Than Our King.”
As I humbly bow before You this AM to acknowledge that You are my Lord, help me always to remember, “There Is No ONE Greater Than Our King.” Amen
