My Greatest Desire
S. O. A. P.
Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Exodus 40:35
Moses could not enter the tent of meeting because the cloud had settled on it, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle.
O-bservation:
As the book of Exodus closes out, it closes with the glory of God hovering in the form of a cloud over the tent of meeting, to the point that Moses could not enter in. The cloud was always God’s way of telling the Israeli people to “Stay Put!” During the night, the fire was in the cloud. Those were God’s signals to His people that He had them in His protective hand.
A-pplication:
Have you ever wondered, “Should I go, or should I stay?” I know I have. It’s always a journey when searching for the will of God. But for Moses, the cloud was more than the will of God; it was more about Moses knowing, “The Lord Was With Him.” I can’t tell you the number of times in prayer that I felt as if my prayers were bouncing off the ceiling right back in my face. Yet, I must also tell you that the will of God is found in our desire to have the cloud with us. It’s in His presence. It’s in knowing that the Lord is so near that I can almost touch Him. The Glory of the Lord is my destination. It’s my pursuit. Having the glory of the Lord fall on me is, “My Greatest Desire!”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
On this AM, my Savior, I ask for Your glory. I know it’s not Sunday, and the worship team hasn’t arrived. It’s just today and You and me, but would You give me Your glory? Please, one more time. Amen
